No monetisation in early access at all, apart from one cosmetic pack

The studio has committed to adding no in-game purchases for the duration of early access — the single exception being an optional Supporter Pack of cosmetics. Instead there is stepped pricing: the earlier you come in, the less you pay. For a game whose whole economy rests on in-game money, that is a promise of principle.

Along with the launch date, the studio made a promise that is rare in this genre: no in-game purchases during Early Access. The only exception is an optional cosmetic Supporter Pack that comes with the pricier edition.

Why this is not a detail

In WARDOGS every piece of gear is bought with in-game money, and every run is a bet: take the expensive rifle, survive and you profit, die and you lose it. Any way to feed real money into that loop breaks its meaning. That is what makes "no monetisation in EA" weigh more than it sounds — it says the economy stays a game rather than a shop window.

You can already do the maths on that loop: our break-even tool shows the survival rate at which a kit stops losing money.

A stepped price instead

The studio uses a different lever: the earlier you buy, the less you pay. The Early Access price is lower than the full-release one. That is an honest trade — you pay less, but you play a game that will keep changing for one to two years.
