The developers held an hour-long press conference where they shared a number of changes coming in Season 02.

Weapons

The Mosin will be left with only its native PU 3.5x scope — the 6x scope is being removed. Developers also clarified how expansive bullets work: against level 4 body armor they won't penetrate the torso, so players should either aim for limbs or switch to armor-piercing rounds.

Rain and squads

In the new season, rain will muffle footstep sounds, similar to how plane flyovers muffled sound in the first season. Squads will get preset tags such as "Builders", "FOB Attack", and "For newbies". Custom squad names won't be added — according to the developers, no filter can reliably hold back profanity.

Helicopters and fair play

Light machine-gun helicopters will become less stable in flight, and their guns will hit weaker and less accurately. Developers also mentioned measures against stream snipers: the server name has been removed from the pause menu, and frequent team switching will now carry a penalty along with a ban on spawn vehicles.

Progression

Eventually weapons will be unlocked using the Intel currency, while accumulated experience will feed into a role-based skill tree. The season itself is expected to last roughly six weeks.

Off stream

Separately, it was mentioned that testers are already playing a new map with dense urban development. This map hasn't been officially announced yet, and whether it will make it into Season 02 is currently unknown.
