Ping above 175 ms now gets you kicked from BULKHEAD's official servers

Since October 21, BULKHEAD's official servers kick players with a steady ping above 175 ms — an attempt to curb cheaters flooding in from problem regions. The studio is also preparing regional blocks and a permanent ban for a vehicle-flying bug.

Since October 21, BULKHEAD's official servers enforce a new ping ceiling of 175 ms. The limit used to be higher — some servers allowed ping up to 250 ms. The goal of the change is to shield most players from an influx of cheaters coming from regions where cheating is more common.

How the kick works

Only a consistently high ping triggers a kick — short spikes don't count. After being kicked, a player can only rejoin the same server once the map changes.

What's next

The studio is preparing a full region-based block. BULKHEAD head Joe Brammer admits this will also affect honest players and calls the restriction temporary.

Permanent ban for a bug

Some players are exploiting a bug that lets ground vehicles fly across the map. The studio promises a server-side hotfix, and anyone caught using the bug will be permanently banned.

Ping from Ukraine to European servers is usually well below 175 ms, so the new ceiling will mostly be felt by those playing with friends from other continents.
