The question everyone on a Steam Deck or SteamOS asks: will WARDOGS run? The short answer today is officially no, but the studio is working on it.
"We do not officially support Linux. However, we are working on proton support and will update our stance once we have this confirmed."
Why it is not just "build for Linux"
There is one obstacle, and it is not graphics: the anti-cheat. The game ships with Epic's Easy Anti-Cheat, and that is what decides whether Proton is allowed through. EAC can technically work under Proton — but the developer has to switch that mode on. During the beta, according to player reports, it was not enabled for Linux.
What that means before launch
As of August, treat Linux support as unavailable rather than "partly working". The game has no Steam Deck verification result either. The studio says plainly that Linux is not a current development priority, while leaving the door open.
If you are on a Deck, do not buy blind: wait until the studio updates its stance after 10 September. We are watching this and will write as soon as anything changes; the rest of the system requirements are on their own page.
